So, what do you define as "Real History"?  Also, how many semesters do you want dedicated to teaching history?  Some folks pursue post-graduate degrees in history focusing on just American Slavery, or the Algonquin Indians, military tactics of Jefferson Davis, or the reign of King Henry VIII.  Limited time.....limited young minds.....trying to keep things neutral, yet cover 1600's to 2022.  That's a tall order, Chief.
Real history.
Not just American history.
World history.
What is appropriate for the age of the child.
My kids' high school history books barely touched on Native Americans (except to say they welcomed us with open arms).
That's at the high school level.
I know there is a limit to what they can cover. I totally get that.
But, we have to be honest about CRT.
That is not being taught in any high schools.
Maybe some areas of it are covered, but the discipline itself is not being taught.
Truthfully, I don't think most parents know what goes on in classrooms day to day.
They hear something bad or outrageous and lose their ****.
Ours is a sheep culture.
